Category: Inactive Title: Latent Print Technician Post Date: 2/18/2010 Description: This position requires staff to be self-reliant; versatile; comfortable working in a military expeditionary environment; diplomatic; and effective communicators. This position is available immediately and involves 6-month deployment rotations in Afghanistan within a Combined Explosive eXploitation Cell (CEXC) Lab. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: · Collect, process, documents, and preserve latent prints from a high number of items. · Use fuming techniques and RUVIS and ALS to reveal and recover latent prints. · Determine best methods for developing, enhancing and preserving latent prints. · Identify and label latent prints of value for photographing/electronic capture. · Analyze and compare latent vs. known prints to establish identification. · Prepare storyboards/written reports on processes performed and data. · Maintain and document chain of custody of prints and data. · Transition next-tour replacement personnel on SOP. MININUM REQUIREMENTS: · Secret level security clearance · Bachelor’s degree with minimum 4 years experience; Associate’s degree with minimum 6 years experience; or · High-School diploma with minimum 8 years experience. · Physical ability and commitment to deploy to Afghanistan for a period of no longer than 180 days, working 12-hour days 7-days a week. · Familiarity with CIDNE, WTI Lexicon and SIPRNET. · U.S. citizenship with the eligibility to obtain and maintain DOD Secret security clearance. HIGHLY DESIRED REQUIREMENTS: · Certification as Latent Print Examiner-International Association for Identification. · Experience working in a JEFF, CEXC, WIT, C-IED Team, DTK Lab, TEDAC facility, other NGIC, DIA or ATF Lab; interagency, or state/ local law enforcement lab. · Prior U.S. military experience Qualified candidates must be available immediately and hold a Secret level clearance.
