Title: Evidence Custodian

Description:
This position requires staff to be self-reliant; versatile; comfortable working in a military expeditionary environment; diplomatic; and effective communicators. This position is available immediately and involves 6-month deployment rotations in Afghanistan within a CEXC Lab.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Receive and document all items from EOD teams and lab operations.
· Properly mark and tagging evidence in accordance with IEMS.
· Maintain associated evidence room and documentation.
· Assist in preparation of Laboratory Examination Requests.
· Assist with limited processing and stabilization of forensic items.
· Receive and assist with triage of personally delivered evidence packages.
· Preparing shipping invoices and appropriate mailing labels for transmitting items.
· Coordinate support of ONCONUS/CONUS labs on evidence preservation and retrieval.
· Transition next-tour replacement personnel on SOP.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or a High-school diploma.
· Professional experience in position requiring a Quality Management System.
· Physical ability and commitment to deploy to Afghanistan for a period of no longer than 180 days, working 12-hour days 7-days a week.
· Familiarity with CIDNE, WTI Lexicon and SIPRNET.
· U.S. citizenship with the eligibility to obtain and maintain DOD Secret security clearance.

HIGHLY DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
· Former CID Evidence Custodians and experience in ASCLD ISO Accredited lab
· Experience working in a JEFF, CEXC, WIT, C-IED Team, DTK Lab, TEDAC Facility, or other NGIC, DIA or ATF Lab; interagency or state/ local law enforcement lab.
· Prior U.S. military experience; EOD or C-IED preferred.
